I suppose I should start with her name; Sunny. It’s simple, especially for what she is. It’s also somewhat childish, and I can’t decide whether it suits her or not. The story she lives is not exactly her own, but it doesn’t belong to anyone else either. It belongs to everyone and to no one.
The beginning of our story is unclear until the end, as is the beginning of her partaking to the story. But she did become aware of herself soon after certain things happened. Right now, though, is the story of how the dominos started falling; the story of how life as we knew it began to unravel.
It’s not a particularly happy story. In fact, it becomes quite bitter in some places; violent and hateful as well. But it’s also quite warm, filled with love and sunshine.
It’s about a girl who is finding those whom she loves because she has lost them. A girl who knows they exist, but can only see them in her dreams (and sometimes nightmares). A girl who will have to relearn everything she already knows because the past no longer belongs to the present. A girl whose existence stops and restarts along with time.
It’s about family, and the measures one would take to protect those most dear to them. About people who you think are out to get you, and are really out to get you. It’s a story about fitting in, about fixing things, about belief and fate, about hope, about wishes, about loss, about salvation, about giving up, and about acknowledging one’s fate.
Most of all, it’s a story about forgetting and remembering. One must walk through a desert of pain in order to find a home; it could be a long or short walk.
This story starts with Sunny, a princess who is called a princess because there isn’t a better title. She’s like you and me, but she isn’t because she’s not human and she is completely different. She belongs to one of two families who live for maintaining a balance, equality, in all realms and worlds in existence. She is a Royal, who lives solely for the purpose of living for others.
She knows nothing except the fact that the story begins with her…
